Progettare è interpretare, è comprendere sia la natura di un problema sia i modi e le forme per superarlo. Il design opera nello spazio di questo doppio sguardo: tra l’insoddisfazione o inadeguatezza delle condizioni esistenti e la ricerca del loro superamento.
A partire dall’interpretazione, il volume indaga il tema dell’inventiva e della sua forma logica e semiotica: l’abduzione, la capacità di ipotizzare scenari possibili e plausibili.
L’inventiva è “arte del trovare”, è il processo mentale che anima ogni fase di un’azione di progetto. L’abduzione è “astuzia dell’intelligenza”, il salto che permette di spostare il pensiero verso nuove immaginazioni. È il procedere di modello in modello, di visione in visione, fino a scovare l’immagine cercata. L’immagine che inventa un mondo possibile.
